Hunting is permitted for a vast number of species on private game farms: lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhinoceros (white - under strictest control; black - extremely rare), antelope (kudu, nyala, impala, wildebeest, bushbuck, springbok and dozens of others), giraffe, hippo, crocodile. The hunting season is often year-round but depends on the species and province. A license and organization through a professional safari guide (PH) are required.
