Not recommended for consumption due to possible toxicity. Rarely used as food due to specific taste and possible toxicity. Used after thorough thermal processing.
Grows in deciduous and mixed forests. Cap is bright blue or blue-green with a smooth surface.
Collect in deciduous and mixed forests from August to October Choose young mushrooms with bright coloration and intact caps
Pay attention to the characteristic blue-green cap color. Avoid collecting old and damaged specimens.
Clean from debris and rinse before cooking. Ensure thorough cooking as it can be mildly toxic. Do not consume.
