July: The Stropharia rugosoannulata continues fruiting.

Conditionally edible, requires heat treatment. Popular in North American and European cuisine. Used in mushroom dishes and as an edible ornamental mushroom.
Grows on organic-rich soils, gardens, and woodchips. Has a large ruby-brown cap with distinct ribs.
Collect in gardens, parks, woodchips and compost piles from July to October Choose young firm mushrooms with intact caps
Avoid overripe or damaged mushrooms. Pay attention to the bright ruby-brown cap color.
Clean from debris and woodchips. Rinse before cooking. Boil before consumption.
Cap: Frying, boiling, baking
Stem: Tough, usually discarded or used for broth

Slice caps and fry with onions and spices
1. Clean and slice caps.
2. Fry in vegetable oil with onions and spices until golden.
3. Serve hot.
Baked Wine Cap Mushroom (Baking)
Bake with cheese and herbs
1. Cut mushrooms into large pieces.
2. Place on baking tray, sprinkle with cheese and herbs.
3. Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes.
