August: Young badgers begin to emerge from their burrows and explore their environment.

Avoids humans. May bite only in self-defense. Badger in Siberia was revered for endurance and strength. Hide used for warm clothing and accessories. Meat consumed in traditional Siberian villages.
Inhabits taiga and mixed forests of Siberia. Nocturnal and burrowing animal. Feeds on small mammals, insects, and plants.

Look for fresh burrows and tracks in the forest. Secretive animal requiring careful approach. Best hunting times are twilight and night.
