July: Summer activity. Jackals actively hunt, teaching their offspring survival skills in the wild. They continue building dens and reinforcing their territory.

Usually avoids humans. May attack domestic animals. Widely distributed in Eurasia and North Africa. Hunting regulated, traditionally used in folk medicine.
Inhabits forests, steppes, and semi-deserts. Lives solitary or in pairs. Feeds on small mammals, birds, and carrion.
