Edible after heat treatment. Common edible mushroom in Europe and Russia. Often collected by amateur mushroom pickers.
Cap brown with reddish cracks, 4–8 cm wide. Stem light yellow with red spots, up to 9 cm long.
Grows in deciduous and mixed forests, favoring mossy grounds Found from July to October
